The challenge
Antipodean, an Australian clothing brand specializing in eco-friendly men's swim shorts, wanted to make a strong entry into the UAE. The product had real differentiation - unique prints, sustainable materials, versatile design - but a great product alone doesn't build awareness in a new and competitive territory. The brand needed a comprehensive online strategy to create awareness and consideration from a standing start.
For a niche lifestyle brand, the absence of a targeted digital presence in a new market limits exposure, slows sales momentum, and delays the thing that matters most: building a loyal customer base.
The solution
We designed a Social Media Market Entry plan tailored to establish Antipodean's presence and resonance in the UAE, built around the brand's own identity rather than generic product ads.
- Core brand-pillar development. We built the content strategy around three pillars - Look Good (unique prints, lightweight breathable designs you can wear anywhere), Do Good (sustainable, ethical purchasing), and Feel Good (fun, exploration, and a lifestyle of adventure).
- Platform-centric strategy. We selected Facebook and Instagram as the primary platforms for engagement and storytelling, matching the UAE's social media consumption habits.
- High-impact content creation. We produced visually compelling, narrative-driven content that brought the brand pillars to life, building community and emotional connection rather than just pushing products.
- Targeted paid campaigns. We ran precision advertising to reach high-potential audiences in specific UAE locations, maximizing visibility, engagement, and traffic to the online store.
The outcome
The campaign generated strong brand awareness and engagement across Facebook and Instagram, and - importantly for a launch - it translated into sustained behavior: visitors spent on average 40% more time exploring the sustainable swimwear collection.
The blend of organic engagement and targeted advertising gave Antipodean rapid traction in a brand-new market, building the early audience that a niche lifestyle brand needs before it can scale.
